Forgotten Premier League winner slams KSI after Wayne Bridge quits fight

Ex- Premier League winner Danny Simpson has taken aim at KSI for his taunts that led to Wayne Bridge pulling out of their fight. The former Manchester City and Chelsea star had signed to fight the YouTuber turned boxer later this year. And the pair’s first chance to stir some hostilities came at the Misfits Boxing 20 event.
KSI taunted his upcoming opponent about his ex-girlfriend, Veronica Perroncell, and her alleged affair with former teammate John Terry - something she has always denied. The Sidemen member said: "Aren't you the guy that let John Terry smash your ex?",.
Bridge replied: "You want to go there straightaway do you?, with KSI adding: "I'm pretty sure that's what you're known for." He then started a chant of 'Vanessa woah, Vanessa woah'. Those jibes have led to Bridge pulling out of the fight completely - a decision he made public with a lengthy statement. And now, ex- Leicester star Danny Simpson has come out in defense of Bridge.
Taking to Twitter, the 2016 Premier League champion said: “Disrespecting the ballers. Can’t be having that @KSI @MamsTaylor @MisfitsBoxing,” with an angry emoji and a boxing glove emoji. Simpson has of course fought in a Misfits himself. He took on Danny Aarons as part of the Series 17 card, with the fight ending in a draw, albeit neither have ruled out a rematch in the future.
