Former Offspring drummer claims he only found out he was fired after ‘most abusive’ call

Drummer Pete Parada claims he was dropped from rock band The Offspring after an ‘abusive and threatening’ call from management. In 2021, Parada made the shock announcement that he was leaving the Pretty Fly singers after 14 years over disagreements regarding the Covid-19 vaccine.
The 48-year-old musician explained that he and his doctor had made the decision not to get the jab due to prior experiences of Guillain-Barré syndrome, a serious condition which affects the nerves. Parada – who has also toured with My Chemical Romance – has now made shocking claims about his treatment during that exit, including clashes with the band’s new manager.
‘He was new with the band,’he told the Try That In A Small Town podcast. He’d only been with them since Covid hit, so I didn’t have a lot of history with this guy.’. The Offspring originally formed in 1984 and Parada joined in 2007 becoming the second-longest serving drummer behind Ron Welty.
The drummer continued: ‘He chose to come at me like a flamethrower. I’ve gotten c***py phone calls before, this was the most abusive and threatening call I’ve ever had in my entire career. The manager reportedly kept interrupting Parada’s explanations and ‘yelling’, even stating he ‘didn’t care’ about the medical exemption.
