Four Liverpool deals that could happen in the January transfer window

Liverpool were extremely quiet in the summer and their main signing was goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who has remained on loan at Valencia. Federico Chiesa arrived from Juventus, but has barely figured as his injury hell has continued. Arne Slot wanted Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, but the Spain midfielder turned down that move at the 11th hour.
Slot has successfully turned Ryan Gravenberch into a No.6 and it appears the Zubimendi ship has sailed. Much depends on the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool will not replace any of them before the summer.
Slot claims the club is in “constant talks” with the trio of stars and still hopes to keep them. But what business could Liverpool do in the January window?. Antonee Robinson. Slot needs to start work on his squad, regardless of what happens with Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold, and left-back is becoming an issue. Andy Robertson’s form is becoming a concern and he has endured a difficult few weeks, giving away penalties against Real Madrid and Southampton before he was sent off after just 17 minutes against Fulham.
He was also turned by Jordan Ayew for Leicester’s goal in Liverpool’s 3-1 Boxing Day win over Leicester. Robertson is 31 in March and the Scotland captain’s pace appears to be dropping, which is alarming. Kostas Tsimikas is a fine understudy, but not a regular starter and Slot has a decision to make about who he wants to be his long-term left-back.
