Fresh appeal to identify body pulled from a canal 14 years ago Police have launched a fresh appeal to identify a man found dead in a canal 14 years ago.
West Midlands Police have issued an e-fit image in a bid to help find any friends of family of the man who was found in the Fazeley Canal in Edington, Birmingham at about 8am on November 4, 2010.
The man was never identified despite extensive inquiries into the case, and West Midlands Police said it is one of the longest-running cases for its Unresolved Missing Persons Investigation Team.
Thought to be in his 50s, he was wearing a dark coloured jumper with white horizontal stripes, black shoes (with Velcro fasteners), and brown socks.
Detective Constable Darryl Towle said: ‘Our aim is always to find out who these people are to help them, their families and friends, find peace.’.
