Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah headlines the list of 82 Premier League players whose contracts expire next summer. With their deals running until June 30, 2025, the famous Bosman rule allows them to join another club on a free transfer. It all starts from Wednesday, January 1, as the 82 players will be able to negotiate with foreign clubs. As rules state, they can sign a pre-contract agreement in order to decide their future long before the season is over.
This six-month rule applies only to foreign clubs, with Premier League clubs unable to talk to other top-flight players until they have entered the final month of their contract. That's the growing concern which Liverpool are facing, not only with Salah but with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, too.
Each of the Anfield trio are approaching the final sixth months of their respective contracts, with speculation over their futures rife across Merseyside and Europe. The same goes for that of Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City, who like Ilkay Gundogan has a decision to make over his future following the four-time champions' recent slump. Rivals Manchester United have a total of six players who are due to be out of contract, namely breakout star Amad, Harry Maguire, Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton.
In London, Arsenal are weighing up the futures of midfield duo Thomas Partey and Jorginho, both of whom have played a vital role throughout Mikel Arteta's time in charge. At Tottenham, captain Son Heung-min is among those at risk of leaving on a free, unless Spurs decide to cash in during the January transfer window.
