The 2025 January transfer window is finally here - and it may be the busiest we've had for some time. Manchester United are in dire need of reinforcements amid their Premier League struggles and it's accepted Ruben Amorim needs to restructure everything - but they'll need to spend big to give him what he wants.

Table-topping Liverpool also have some decisions to make themselves. Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk can now engage in talks with foreign clubs. Real Madrid have also made their first move to try and sign Trent Alexander-Arnold with an offer being rejected, but the Spaniards may return if they can nab him now for a relatively cheap fee.

Arsenal are eyeing the title at the third attempt but they need some more firepower and a hefty shortlist has been compiled while Raheem Sterling's loan also remains a subject of debate. Elsewhere, Manchester City and Chelsea - as well as all of their Premier League rivals - could choose to dip into the market over the coming weeks.

Stay tuned as Mirror Football brings you all of the latest transfer news and rumours throughout the January transfer window... The Magpies will allow Miguel Almiron to depart this month, per reports, after a move in the summer collapsed. The Paraguay international has made just one Premier League start this term and has 18 months remaining on his contract.

Seko Fofana joins Rennes in a €20m deal from Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr. The 29-year-old previously drew interest from the likes of Newcastle before moving to the Saudi Pro League from Lens. Fofana started his professional career with Manchester City and spent time on loan at Fulham before moving to Udinese.
