Monty Don has given Garderners' World fans a tantalising glimpse into his future on the popular show. Having taken over from Alan Titchmarsh in 2003, Monty has been a mainstay on the programme, with a brief break between 2008 and 2011. Monty recently shared his plans for the future: "I never make plans beyond two years, but I've agreed to do another two (from January 2025)," he revealed to Radio Times.

Gardening fans will be thrilled as he commits to at least another two years, sharing the "truth" behind his decision: "Every time I think: 'Am I really going to do this?' But the truth is that I do enjoy it. I'm lucky because it's in my own garden. If the programme is made well, I'll continue.".

In addition to his regular slot on Gardeners' World, Monty will soon have his own show, showcasing some of the UK's finest gardens. Monty Don's British Gardens will premiere on January 10 at 8pm. After years of exploring gardens globally, Monty feels it's time to focus on UK gardening: "I've been travelling the world visiting gardens since Around the World in 80 Gardens in 2008.".

Keen to explore British gardening from a fresh perspective, he said: "While Gardeners' World is essentially practical, sharing the experience of how to garden, the travel programmes are more of a cultural thing: Why are people gardening here, what does it mean to them?".

He mused, "We suddenly thought, why don't we look at our own back yard with the same kind of cultural, anthropological eye?". Monty Don, a household name for his role on Garderners' World, has graced our TV screens for years, highlighting the world of gardening. In addition to his regular spot on BBC's Gardeners' World, Monty has recently been seen trotting the globe to places like Japan, the US, and lately Spain, delving into the diverse gardening traditions of these countries, reports the Express.
