Gary Neville takes aim at four 'poor' Man Utd players as Ruben Amorim's struggles continue

Gary Neville has admitted that he has been shocked by how much Manchester United's summer signings have struggled this season. The Red Devils had a busy transfer market to spend in the region of £200million under Sir Jim Ratcliffe's influence. Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee all arrived at Old Trafford as a new sporting hierarchy, including sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox and chief executive Omar Berrada, took charge.
Ashworth has since departed from his position and United's season has not gone to plan. Amorim has been unable to arrest the club's struggles and they currently sit 14th in the Premier League. Sky Sports commentator Neville believes United have once again provided an environment in which impressive players see their reputations take a downturn. It is not something the veteran pundit expected at the close of the transfer window earlier this year however.
Neville said: "What am l surprised about is that when in the summer Manchester United signed those three or four players, I didn’t hear anyone say ‘Manchester United have had a terrible transfer market’. “I am shocked about how poor those players have been in their early months. I have said it before that this club has been a graveyard for players who have come with decent reputations. And it is happening again.
“I didn’t hear anyone say in the summer when Yoro, De Ligt, Ugarte, Zirkzee joined that United hadn’t signed half-decent players. The problem is that when you have seen them out here in a red shirt then Manchester United look a worse team. That’s the odd thing.”.
