Gavin and Stacey's Ruth Jones has teased what happened during that notorious fishing trip ahead of the show's Christmas special. The actress, 59, who plays Nessa in the show, clarified that despite rumours of Bryn West (Rob Brydon) and Jason (Robert Wilfort) getting up to illegal mischief, what happened was 'completely legal in Britain'.
It is one of the last remaining loose ends of storylines to tie up. While the fishing trip has often been alluded to, fans never found out what did happen that day between the pair, only knowing that whatever they did, was thought to be 'illegal in Wales'.
Speaking to Jason King and Emma Bunton on Heart Radio, Ruth and her co star James Corden said:' But at that point (2019) we didn’t even think we’d ever make another episode.'. 'Yeah, all we can say is it is not illegal in this country', Ruth added.

The finale trailer released last week saw Gwen confront her son and brother-in law once and for all, demanding they fess up about what happened. The clip sees her telling a very distressed looking Bryn and Jason: '30 years ago you two went on a fishing trip that almost tore this family apart'.
