Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, leading a murder investigation for the Met’s Specialist Crime, added: “Three people are in custody and specialists from across the Met have been working at pace since last night to establish exactly what happened.

Murder detectives have arrested three girls aged 14, 16 and 17 after a pensioner assaulted outside a bank in a north London high street died in hospital.
“I share those concerns, and I want to assure local people that a thorough police investigation is under way.
