Gladiator Jet's ex-wife hits back at star's 'hurtful' claims amid bitter split

The estranged wife of Gladiators star Jet has hit back at claims made by the star amid their ugly split. Jet, whose real name is Diane Youdale, met Zoe Gilbert in a Tesco supermarket in 2022 and married a year later in July 2023. However, just months on from walking down the aisle, they have separated. Diane attributes the split to ongoing jealousy from Zoe regarding her past relationships, which she felt eroded her sense of self.

And earlier this week Diane, 54, claimed she had snapped and attacked her wife amid her alcohol battle she says she developed during their crisis-hit union that "pushed her over the edge" at time. The Gladiators star's ex-wife has now said she is "sickened" by the allegations made by Diane and says she felt "baited" by the TV star. Zoe, 50, hit back at Gladiator star Diane's explosive confessions as she tried telling her side of the story. Zoe said the there is no way the pair could remain friends after their split. She also denied the accusations she was jealous or possessive.

Zoe told the Mail Online: "What Diane said about me was hurtful when she claimed that my jealousy broke up the marriage. I was not jealous, but I had to see it in black and white in the newspapers before I found out the truth.". She also alleged that she feels the former Gladiators star "wants to bring me down" by making the claims she did in an explosive interview earlier this week. Zoe had previously explained she thought she was the TV star's first female lover. It came after Diane told an interview Zoe was the first female she had dated.

However, it was later said this was not the case with a former pal speaking about their past romantic connection shortly after Diane and Zoe's wedding. After previously suspecting something had gone on between the pair, Zoe's suspicions were heightened when Jet's friend Sonia Strong claimed she and Jet had been in a same-sex relationship for seven years and that she'd dated another friend called Lisa after that.

Former Miss England contestant Sonia said in an interview in 2023 following Diane's claims: "I didn't know whether to laugh, scream or cry when I read that Diane was supposedly with her first ever woman. The way she told it, it was as if she had stumbled across lesbianism in the cereal aisle at Tesco." She went on to claim: "But we were in a relationship from 2012 to 2019 so how this latest woman can be her first is beyond me.".

Zoe refuted claimed she is jealous of Jet's past romantic relationships as she added: "I am in contact with these exes, so whatever claims have been made about my jealousy is nonsense. They are her exes but I'm in contact, they are friends." She added that Sonia and Lisa have been supporting her since her marriage breakdown and she speaks to Diane's former lovers "everyday".
