Harlan Coben's highly anticipated new TV series, Missing You, is set to arrive on Netflix in the coming weeks, following the massive success of his previous adaptation, Fool Me Once, which starred Michelle Keegan. This latest series is based on Harlan's best-selling novel of the same name, which was released in March 2014.
A gripping thriller, Missing You delves into the ties that bind us to our past. The series follows Detective Kat Donovan, whose world is turned upside down when she sees the face of her former fiancé, Josh, on a dating app, 11 years after he mysteriously disappeared.
As Kat delves back into the mystery surrounding her father's murder, she uncovers long-buried secrets from her past. Harlan, 62, has described Missing You as his "most gripping" drama to date, and a trailer for the series has now been released, with the premiere set for Wednesday, 1 January. Netflix announced the news on social media, saying: "Nothing burns like an old flame... and your new year's plans just got a lot hotter @harlancoben's MISSING YOU debuts on 1 January, only on Netflix.".
At the National Television Awards, Harlan gave a sneak peek into his latest Netflix endeavour, revealing to Digital Spy: "I think it may be my most gripping, and the ending will not only surprise you. In fact, I recently re-watched it, I was completely fooled by the ending – and I wrote it. But I think you'll genuinely be moved. Tell me if you shed a tear at the last episode of Missing You.".
The star-studded cast of Missing You includes Jessica Plummer, Harlan Coben, Richard Armitage, Ashley Walters, Rosalind Eleazar, Sir Lenny Henry, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner, Victoria Asare-Archer, Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee. Harlan served as an executive producer alongside Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, Danny Brocklehurst, and Victoria Asare-Archer, who also contributed as a writer.
