Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) is set to be led astray by troublemaker Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) in Hollyoaks early next year, with the gangster preying on the young dad’s struggles. The teen, as viewers know, has been struggling to come to terms with the fact that he’s a father after he slept with Leah Barnes (Ela-May Demircan) during the missing year.

His heart is also aching following his split from Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis), who has been unable to forgive him for sleeping with his sister while he was in young offenders. Dillon’s struggle to parent baby James has left Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) and Donny (Louis Emerick) frustrated and upcoming scenes, now available to stream as part of the Christmas boxset, will see them pleading with the teen to step up.

But Dillon is soon the subject of Rex’s manipulation, with the sinister character persuading the struggling dad to skip out on his responsibilities to go out drinking instead. At first, Dillon refuses and instead tries to look after James but, struggling to settle his son, he turns to drinking at The Loft, messaging Rex to take him up on his offer.

Misbah and Donny, meanwhile, are left to look after James and, after a sleepless night, they’re exhausted. Donny pleads with Misbah, telling him that they can’t carry on like this, coming to the realisation that perhaps he shouldn’t have pushed Dillon so hard.
