Home Bargains has impressed its customers with the latest addition to its home decor range, which looks strikingly similar to a costly, in-demand piece of art. The discount retail giant offers various products including food and snacks, beauty essentials, DIY tools, gardening items, and furnishings. As part of its fresh winter homeware line-up, the store sells a 'beautiful' canvas for just £12.99, reminiscent of a £970 painting from Studio McGee. On Instagram, home decor enthusiast Sophie Higgs, or Home_by_the_cloud as her 376k followers know her, showcased the "absolute bargain" in a video.
Revealing how it added the perfect touch to her bedroom, she hangs the canvas over her bed and shares with viewers: "It finishes off our bedroom perfectly." She expressed her excitement in the post's caption, writing: "This absolute bargain painted picture was only £12.99 and a really similar one from Studio McGee is £968!. "Remember a couple of weeks ago when I said I'd found the most incredible home find, that I actually think could be the bargain of the year - well this is it!" She explains further: "It's from @Homebargains and I love it so much.
"The picture is actually painted on the canvas and it has a wooden frame around it too. I'd been searching for the perfect picture for our bedroom, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this.". The £12.99 canvas from Home Bargains is causing a stir, drawing comparisons to McGee and Co's Cotton Candy Clouds painting, which is valued at $1,194 or £696.98, reports the Liverpool Echo. The website describes the pricier piece: "Cotton candy clouds graze over this serene lake scene in this piece for a creative play on colour.
"With warm tones juxtaposed against cool greens and blues, it lends a soft dimension to your entryway vignette." Bargain hunters are keen to snap up the affordable Home Bargains artwork, which can only be bought in-store. Thrifty shoppers in the comments section have hailed it as the 'bargain find of the year', with one exclaiming: "What a find!" Another shopper couldn't hide their excitement, saying: "Say whattt? That's amazing!!".
A third remarked: "Wow, so similar - and what a bargain!" Meanwhile, another comment read: "Wow what an amazing find! It looks perfect styled here in your bedroom." Yet another person observed: "I saw this the other day it's a beauty.". A particular shopper enquired about online availability, asking: "I'm obsessed with this artwork! Have been to two stores and both aren't big enough to stock it - do you know if it's online." To which Sophie Higgs responded: "It's so nice isn't it, I don't think it's online sorry. If you're local to Cheshire then Macclesfield Lyme Green store had some on Monday.".
