Natasha Rothwell is fighting to get her show How to Die Alone picked up at another streamer after it was cancelled by Hulu following just one season. The comedy, which premiered in September 2024, follows broke JFK airport employee Mel (played by Natasha) who finally takes her first flight and starts living by any means necessary after an accidental brush with death. The eight-episode first season also starred Conrad Ricamora, Jocko Sims, and KeiLyn Durrel Jones.

After news of How To Die Alone's axe was reported, Natasha, 44, revealed her hopes that this won't be a goodbye forever while simultaneously expressing her disappointment. In a statement shared on Instagram, she said: 'This is hard to comprehend… My heart aches for the incredible cast, crew and writers who gave their all to tell this story. 'I'm so grateful to have had this opportunity and appreciate all of the love and support given to me and the show.'.

Concluding the post, she added: 'Now, my prayer is that this news will be but a comma in the HTDA story, not a period. Onward.'. Natasha's statement was met with an outpouring of love, with many confident that this won't be the end of the road for How To Die Alone. Others shared their fury over the cancellation news and tagged other streamers in a bid to get it picked up. One wrote: '@netflix @hbo where y'all at?! Cause Hulu over here fumbling the bag!!'. 'That's so trash! This was an amazing show and I pray someone makes the right decision and picks it up! Come on @netflix,' added another.

A third said: 'A huge loss on their part! This was a fantastic show and I have all my limbs crossed that it will find another home.'.
