In the series of stunning photos, the singer was seen embracing a more gothic side to her character. She ditched her trademark platinum blonde locks for long dark hair. During the photoshoot for Elle UK, Lady Gaga - who's real name is Stefani Germanotta - opened up about her star status.

"I'm just trying to feel as in my skin as possible and not like I'm performing all the time," The superstar told the publication. "For me, I'm at a place in my life where I just want to feel like myself in clothes. "Whatever that means. So if that's changing, I just want to go with that feeling.".

She then added: "I love being Lady Gaga. I love being me. I became a star when I was 20. "Everything gets reflected back to you that this persona is what makes you special.". Lady Gaga also talked about turning 40 next year, and how she felt about the milestone.
