‘I went into labour during Christmas dinner and gave birth just hours later’ Stay-at-home mum Harriet Knock, 26, lives in North Devon with her fiance Luke and their four children Freddie, six, Edward, four, Daisie, two, and Joey, 11 months.
Last Christmas Day, Harriet Knock was nine months pregnant and had three days to go before her due date, so when she started to experience mild pains she dismissed them as “just Braxton Hicks” and continued on with her festive plans.
She added: “In fact, back in May last year, when I was told our due date was 28 December, I didn’t think a Christmas baby was likely as I had a feeling my fourth child would arrive early – like my third, Daisie, who was born at 39 weeks.
With her deadline looming, Harriet put Christmas decorations up on November 27, ordered gifts online, made presents when her eldest children were at school and hunted down bargains for Christmas food and drinks.
Harriet said: “I assumed that my contractions were a false alarm and thought, surely, of all days that our new baby wouldn’t pick Christmas Day to make an appearance.”.
