'I'm a vet - most people don't realise these dog breeds are banned' A vet has explained how few people recognise some of the dog breeds that are banned in the UK.
Ben the Vet explained in a video on TikTok that many pet owners simply didn't know three of the five banned breeds.
He advised: "If you are re-locating, or travelling with your dog, it's important to do your research and check your dog's breed is not on the banned list in the country you're going to.".
When a dog is suspected of being a banned breed in the UK, the police are obliged to seize it as part of their duty to enforce the law.
