On the AI directory website There’s An AI For That, countless bots been created to assist with dating – from profile creators to pickup line generators and texting assistants for optimising replies.

FindingTheOne founder Simon Prockter says AI could be the "final nail in the coffin" for online dating – if platforms continue to prioritise these artificial bells and whistles over genuine human connection.

Even if some are thrilled with their new ultra-intelligent sexting chatbot (albeit sans nudes-sending capability), the AI creep into online dating isn’t wooing most of us.
