After a six-year hiatus, Joe made an unexpected comeback to the village in December and has been causing chaos at Home Farm ever since. However, Joe is also concealing a serious health problem. In recent episodes, he's been seen taking painkillers to ease symptoms, including chest pains, but hasn't disclosed his exact condition.
When Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) found him unconscious in his car with a bottle of pills nearby, she demanded answers. Joe quickly fabricated a heartfelt story about being addicted to painkillers, and later gave suspicious Kim Tate (Claire King) the same excuse. Meanwhile, Joe has been trying to bond with Noah and insists on fostering a brotherly relationship. However, Joe has been secretly leaving negative reviews online about Noah's electrician business to ruin his reputation, while also tempting him with gifts.
On Wednesday (February 5), Noah voiced his concern about losing work to his mum Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and blamed the fake reviews. Joe then showed up in The Woolpack and talked about his grand business plan in Dubai and convinced Noah he should move there for a well-paid job with free accommodation, reports Leeds Live. Charity's anger towards Joe for interfering in Noah's life takes a dark turn as Emmerdale viewers speculate on Joe's true intentions. With theories abound, some fans believe Joe needs an organ transplant and is looking to lure Noah to Dubai for this sinister purpose.
One fan took to social media saying: "Apparently he's going to ask him to move to Dubai with him, still think he needs something a kidney?? Bit of liver or something else??"
