The Chase viewers were left unimpressed just minutes into the show as they pleaded for one contestant to ‘please stop’ after pointing out his ‘annoying’ habit. During Wednesday’s (January 22) episode of the ITV hit game show, host Bradley Walsh, 64, returned to our TV screens alongside four players all hoping to walk away with the huge cash prize.
Hoping to beat the chaser was Samir from Surrey, Jill from Abergele, Godfrey from London and Lilli from Cardiff. The group worked as a team as they went head to head with Anne Hegerty, who is also known as The Governess. Putting their general knowledge skills to the test, they went all out and answered quick fire questions.
Samir was the first contestant to take on The Governess and he opted to play for the middle offer of £5,000. Before getting stuck in he was asked what he would do if he won the cash prize. Samir joked: “I should invest it, which is a little bit boring but I’d really like to take Maya Jama out for dinner.”.
Everyone burst out laughing as Bradley looked at the camera and said: “Well there you are Maya, Samir is here for you. She is a lovely girl too.”. Samir managed to beat the chaser and make it through to the next round however throughout the round fans were quick to point out that Samir was over-explaining his answers and was constantly using his hands when speaking.
