ITV soap, Emmerdale, has been forced to warn viewers ahead of tonight's heart-wrenching episode. Fans are preparing for a dramatic visit to the Dales after we finally learned what happened to April Windsor over the last month. April disappeared on Christmas Day, last seen jumping in the back of a car and heading away from the village. Viewers then learnt she had been sleeping rough and was pregnant before she tragically had a stillbirth in the toilets of a gym she had snuck into. Heartbreakingly, she told her baby she was sorry as the episode ended last night, with fans devastated by the scenes.

Preparing viewers for the aftermath of the tragedy, ITV has posted a message on its Hub site, advertising tonight's episode, with the caption: "With scenes of medical distress and themes of self harm and abuse.". Ahead of the heartbreaking episode tonight, Mark Charnock - who plays Marlon Dingle, April's dad, told the Mirror things are not straightforward when April returns home. He said: "It's not straightforward; it's almost being like missing in your house. The old them has gone.

"They're all treading on egg shells - it's not just Marlon - and I was saying before, it's like they've been searching this human haystack and now they've got the needle back, it's just a different being, with different reference points and a different attitude.". After Tuesday's episode, fans were left confused over who the father of April's baby may be. Many were convinced it was friend, Arthur. "Which child from the village is the father of April's baby? I think it could be Arthur. #Emmerdale," wrote one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter. Another wrote: "Is Arthur the father !??? #emmerdale".

Meanwhile, some believed she could have been groomed by an older man online, as others suspect she may have met someone at a party. Another name that's been suggested is Samson, or his friend Josh. The pair were last seen in the ITV soap last summer, after Samson was sentenced to prison for attacking Josh, who had bullied him into lying about what really happened when Matty was stabbed. Actress Amelia Flanagan, who plays April, was praised by fans for her acting in the epic episode last night, as one took to X, saying: "Amelia Flanagan is amazing. I wonder where this story will go next and if we’ll know who the father is.".
