April Windsor will struggle as she tries to settle back into the Emmerdale village, spoilers have revealed. Mark Charnock - who plays Marlon Dingle - is front and centre of this harrowing storyline with April. During emotional and devastating scenes last night, viewers learned that April ran away because she was pregnant. Worried about adding another young child to the mix at her house, she decided to run away and stay with friends, but they abandoned her and she was left alone on the streets. Soon, she met up with other young people who had gone missing and they all formed a close bond, only for April to witness one of them being arrested.
Stressed and in pain, she went into an early labour and tragically had a stillbirth. She begged passer-by's for help, but no one would stop and April tragically gave birth to her baby in the bathroom of a gym after sneaking into the facility. Mark has now opened up about the future scenes on the ITV soap as April returns home and struggles with settling back in. The emotional and physical trauma she has gone through will inform her future. "It's not straightforward; it's almost being like missing in your house. The old them has gone. I think the good thing about it is that it'll reunite the family because they're all at a level playing field trying to make it work for her," he said.
"They're all treading on egg shells - it's not just Marlon - and I was saying before, it's like they've been searching this human haystack and now they've got the needle back, it's just a different being, with different reference points and a different attitude." Marlon is so "terrified" about losing April again that he second guesses everything he does. He explained: "I think it's really difficult. If she was to come back, he's going to be so terrified of losing her again, it will change every conversation with her. It will make anybody more anxious; and he'll feel on some level it's his fault. That guilt, when he means so much to her, that he'll carry with him, will be like a cloud around him for quite a while.".
