AS the Trump ladies took to the floor at the inauguration ball, onlookers were stunned but one woman came out on top. While the President and First Lady hit three inaugural balls on Monday night, it was the Liberty Ball where the whole Trump family were on display in their finery.
With all men wearing black tie for the occasion, it was the women's glamorous ball gowns that stole the show. After changing out of the navy blue ensemble she wore for the Inauguration Ceremony, which was paired with a matching white trim, Melania Trump left fans speechless with her ballgown.
She yet again sent another "bold message" with her outfit choice, opting for an eye-catching black and white number. The First Lady wore a striking strapless black and white dress paired with a black choker with a 1955 broach borrowed from Harry Winston.
Her silk crepe dress was made by Hervé Pierre, who has been the former model's personal stylist for eight years. After creating her dresses for the 2017 inaugural balls, this year he went for a white gown with a black ribbon falling around her body from the top of the dress to the bottom.
According to Women's Wear Daily, the ribbon is meant to depict a ribbon around a bouquet of flowers. Pierre said: “It is a great honour to have collaborated with the First Lady on the design for her inaugural dress. "It was clear that Mrs. Trump was gravitating towards a combination of black and white – true to her own style and vision.".
