Jade Thirlwall is flying high after receiving two nominations at this year’s Brit Awards, marking a significant milestone in her solo career. The Fantasy singer, 32, is the first of her Little Mix bandmates to earn recognition for solo work since the group went on hiatus in 2023.

Since launching her solo career last June, the South Shields star has seen remarkable success, securing a top 10 hit with her debut single. Now, she’s celebrating nominations for the coveted Song of the Year for Angel of My Dreams and the fan-voted Best Pop Act.

Calling the recognition “amazing,” she reflected on her journey during the live Brit Awards nominations broadcast. The It Girl hitmaker acknowledged Little Mix’s legacy at the Brits—winning three awards over the past decade—but admitted her solo nods feel “extra special.”.

“Well obviously, as a band we were nominated a few times and obviously that’s amazing,” she told host Sian Welby. “We won I think three Brit Awards over the last 10 years, but when it’s for your own music and from my own personal experiences, it does hit different, it feels extra special.”.

Jade revealed that writing Angel of My Dreams was a defining moment in finding her identity as a solo artist. “When I first started this sort of solo journey, I was writing a lot of music to exist outside of the group, and to figure out who I am on my own,” she explained.
