James Bond fans beg for reboot and ask for franchise to go 'back to beginning'

James Bond fans have been throwing around their theories for the next instalment of the franchise, with plenty of speculation about who will take over from Daniel Craig. A number of names have been doing the rounds from Idris Elba to Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Rege-Jean Page but no name has been confirmed as of yet.
The 007 series is known for showcasing expensive cars, Bond girls and beautiful locations as the backdrop of the plot. However, one Reddit user has expressed their desire for the franchise to return to it's roots and change the narrative. They took to Reddit to pen: "I appreciate the 007 story and want to see good James Bond movies arrive. But spying is not the same game it was in the 20th Century, and the stories we are getting are increasingly bizarre and implausible, and it just doesn’t work to shoehorn 007 into the current year.
"So let’s bring 007 not only back to the beginning, but let’s start him as a brand new British spy during World War II, behind the front lines. "There could be an entire trilogy of material just set in WWII, and we could see Felix as a brand new OSS agent.".
The fan continued: "The story has a defined enemy: Nazis. And a megalomaniac: Hitler. But to avoid counter factualism, 007 should do a realistic intelligence gathering mission in Lisbon and occupied Paris.". The person in question concluded their post by arguing that producers need to stop "hitting their heads against the wall" to make a 21st century story about a 20th century character.
