Jamie Carragher has joked he needs to "have a word" with Micah Richards after he claimed Myles Lewis-Skelly's red card was the worst decision he'd ever seen. The Arsenal dismissal grabbed all the headlines on Saturday night. Lewis-Skelly was given his marching orders by Michael Oliver after bringing down Wolves star Matt Doherty. He was quick to brandish a red, which surprised many, including Mikel Arteta who said he was "fuming" with the decision.

Arsenal have since successfully overturned the decision and Riccardo Calafiori's strike in the second-half meant Arsenal still managed to secure the three points. Carragher didn't see the decision live but was quick to clock the reaction on social media. Alan Shearer, like Richards, claimed it was one of the most bizarre reds he'd seen, but when the ex-Liverpool man saw the highlights later he was somewhat surprised by the reaction.

He said on The Overlap : "The fact it was a 3pm game and it wasn’t live on TV… I was at the Wigan game and I saw that Arsenal had a man sent off. I could see the reaction on social media and I heard someone on the radio on the way home saying it was the worst decision he’s ever seen. I’ve got to wait until Match of the Day comes on to watch it but you’ve already got it ingrained in your head that this decision must be horrific.

"I saw my big pal, Big Meeks [Micah Richards], saying it was the worst decision he’s ever seen in Premier League history and I’m like, 'Oh… I need to have a word with him!', but I think it’s mostly come from the fact he’s almost got it in his head before he’s seen it.
