The Jet2 aircraft diverted to Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport in Spain on Friday afternoon after crew reported a man in his 70s was suffering a severe medical emergency.
The crew had notified air traffic control that a man was experiencing a severe medical emergency and was in need of urgent assistance, forcing the aircraft to divert to mainland Spain.
Flight LS676 had departed the Canary Islands at 7.05pm before the mid-air emergency was declared, according to local media outlet Diario de Avisos.
A holiday jet was forced to make an emergency landing after a passenger died during a flight from Tenerife to Nottingham.
The plane, which was making its way to the UK, landed at the Galician capital where an ambulance had been sent to the terminal.
