Jimmy Carter funeral: Obama and Trump spotted 'gossiping' as Melania 'flirts' with husband

Former political foes Barack Obama and Donald Trump looked "relaxed" around each other at Jimmy Carter's funeral this afternoon, and were even spotted appearing to engage in 'gossip', a body language expert has said. Obama at next to Trump at the memorial service at Washington National Cathedral this afternoon, where former occupants of the White House, leading political figures, and close allies gathered to remember President Carter, who died at the age of 100 on December 29. Before the service began, Barack Obama was seen chatting with his successor. He did not stand to greet him but shook his hand, and the pair were keenly engaged in conversation as Kamala Harris entered the cathedral.
In live footage from the funeral, the two men seemed to grin as they exchanged pleasantries, while Melania looked on with what appeared to be a scowl. Now, body language expert Judi James has told the Mirror that the interaction between Trump and Obama suggests the two men might share some "values", even if they disagree strongly on politics.
She said: “The rather curt 'hi' that passed between Obama and Trump as Obama arrived suggested the body language between the two men might be as frosty as that of the people in the row in front of them, but then Obama unbuttoned his jacket and took his seat and suddenly we saw rituals of what looked like an amicable, relaxed friendship as the two Presidents chatted. Trump's face formed the kind of grin when you're expecting some empathetic laughter or fun and their very long, animated conversations did produce some smiles and laughter.
