Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow does not fancy his chances of being named the NFL's Most Valuable Player this season - amid competition from the likes of Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. But the Cincinnati star has vowed to win the award before he retires from football.

Alongside Bills quarterback Allen, Ravens star Jackson and Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Burrow is among the betting favorites to be named MVP. The Bengals star has thrown for 4,641 yards and 42 touchdowns this season - more than any other quarterback in the league.

That is despite the Bengals being 8-8 and in serious danger of missing the postseason. Burrow was serenaded with 'M-V-P' chants after victory over the Broncos. But ahead of Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he played down his chances of winning the award.

'I doubt it,' Burrow said. 'Usually you have to win your division... it is what it is. That's how it's voted and I don't necessarily disagree with it.'. The Bengals currently sit third in the AFC North - behind Baltimore (11-5) and Pittsburgh (10-6). The quarterback is in no doubt, however, that he will earn the accolade at some point in the future.  'I'll win one, one day,' Burrow said.
