Kate Ferdinand shares throwback of bikini-clad night she met Rio - as they return as married parents

Kate Ferdinand has shared the moment she met her future husband – Rio. The pair met eight years ago while holidaying in Dubai back in 2016 through mutual friends. At the time of their meeting, Kate was getting over her relationship to her former The Only Way Is Essex co-star Dan Edgar. On New Year's Eve in 2016, footballing legend Rio took to Instagram to share a snap alongside Lee Westwood and Anthony Joshua while in Dubai.
Just days later, Kate also shared a snap of herself in Dubai as she teased booking another trip to the United Arab Emirates. Just several months later, both Kate and Rio returned to the desert for a romantic couples holiday but kept their romance underwraps. It was only in April of 2017 when Kate went public with their relationship, revealing she was quitting TOWIE as her "priority right now is Rio and the family.".
Now, the 33-year-old has taken to social media to reveal a snap from the night she and Rio were introduced. But it appears that the country still holds a special place in their hearts as they have returned eight years later to celebrate New Year's Eve. Sharing a snap from their first meeting, Kate looked fresh-faced as she posed in a bikini while holding a drink in her hand.
Meanwhile, her now husband opted for a white vest top as the pair smiled for the camera. Alongside their throwback, the reality star shared a new snap of the couple enjoying their getaway. Captioning her upload, Kate penned: "Rio & I met 8 years ago yesterday. Who would have thought that fast forward to now we would be back in the place we met, married, with 2 more beautiful children, 5 in total.
