British No 1 Katie Boulter's dream December got even better as she kicked off her 2025 season by leading Great Britain to victory over Argentina in the United Cup. The 28-year-old announced on social media last week that she had become engaged to long-term boyfriend and world No 9 Alex de Minaur.
The tennis power couple, who have been dating since 2022, could even face each other on court this week with Britain due to play De Minaur's Australia on New Year's Day. Last week, Boulter and De Minaur thrilled their fans with an Instagram snap in which the Brit had her left arm around the neck of her 25-year-old beau revealing that she was wearing a stunning engagement ring on her wedding finger.
They captioned the post: 'We’ve been keeping a small secret…'. Having initially met on the professional tennis circuit, the pair ran into each other while out for a 6am coffee. Katie Boulter looked in fine form as she kicked off her 2025 season with two victories.
Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur surprised fans last week by announcing their engagement. Both enjoyed excellent 2024 seasons on the WTA and ATP Tours with Boulter going on to win in Nottingham and San Diego while De Minaur recently won the Ultimate Tennis Showdown.
It was here that their relationship blossomed and Boulter admitted that was when she knew he was the one. 'We bumped into each other at six in the morning and ended up getting a coffee. From that moment, I knew I was in it for the long haul,' Boulter had previously told The Age.
