Katie Price car insurance at £150,000 after being banned from road 6 times

Katie Price reveals her car insurance could have cost her a fortune after being banned from driving on six occasions. Katie, 46, has faced several driving bans over the years and only returned to driving last October after an 18-month driving ban due to a drink driving offence.

In a recent interview, the star explained that she can no longer get insured to drive as it costs hundreds of thousands of pounds. She blamed her reputation and her driving history for the ban: ‘I can’t get insured on a nice car because of my driving bans and that. And because of who I am.’.

Katie explained on Rob Moore’s Disruptors podcast: ‘No insurance company will insure me, because of who I am. I put down ‘author’ but they see the name Katie Price and they’re like “oh,” then they make you phone them back.’. She explained that she felt it was ‘discrimination’ against her because of her image as she revealed the huge sum she was quoted by various car insurance companies.
‘They want £150,000 down, and £8,000 a month,’ she said as the host scoffed in shock. Rob then asked incredulously: ‘On a 20 grand car they want £150,000 down?’. ‘Yes,’ said Katie. ‘But that surely can’t be because you’re Katie Price?’ said the host as Katie then added that it might have something to do with her six previous driving bans.
Rob laughed and added: ‘Well maybe it’s that as well!’. Katie argued that for the most part, she was escaping the paparazzi every time she’s been caught speeding or driving recklessly. She then revealed that she now has to rely on rental cars to get around.
