Ferrari fans are said to be divided over how peaceful they think Lewis Hamilton's relationship with new team-mate Charles Leclerc will be. In one of the biggest driver moves in Formula 1 history, seven-time champion Hamilton has now begun work with Ferrari almost a year on from his decision to join from Mercedes. At the age of 40, he is gambling on the Scuderia as being the right team for him in his quest to win an eighth title before retirement.

Ahead of the new season, he will be working hard to settle into his new surroundings and get to know his new colleagues. That puts him at a disadvantage to new team-mate Leclerc, who has spent almost his entire F1 career with Ferrari and is adored by both colleagues and fans alike.

The relationship between the two of them has been very cordial so far. Hamilton and Leclerc largely got on well when representing rival teams and, since the announcement of the Brit's Ferrari move, his Monegasque counterpart has spoken many times of his excitement to work with the F1 legend.

Hamilton also got along well with George Russell during their three seasons together at Mercedes. However, during that period, it was notable that they were never in title contention and quite often, they were working closely together to maximise the team's points rather than chasing individual glory such as race wins.

Hamilton said himself that their relationship would have been different if they were both in with a shot of the drivers' title. And while some Italian fans believe their new driver line-up will be a harmonious one, others worry that things could become tense if they are in the championship hunt.
