Jared Goff says he plans to have words with Brock Purdy when the Lions visit the 49ers next week - after he put other NFL quarterbacks to shame with extravagant Christmas gifts for his offensive line. Purdy surprised the Niners' O-line with some luxury Toyota trucks for Christmas this year, despite the team failing to reach the playoffs almost a year since they made it to the Super Bowl.
While cynical fans claimed he likely received the trucks for free due to his partnership with Toyota, the San Francisco quarterback's gesture was still the most impressive in the NFL over the holiday period. And Goff is not best pleased that Purdy has set the bar extremely high for quarterbacks going forward.
'I got my guys a nice package of stuff. We’ll keep it in house. But it’s nice, I hope they’re happy with it,' the Detroit quarterback said when asked what he bought his O-line on local radio station 97.1 The Ticket this week. 'Yeah, I saw what Purdy did too with the trucks, and I thought that was kind of like... "Come on, man.".

'I might say something to him next week like, "You’ve got to relax with that. I know you’ve got the Toyota deal, but you’re buying everyone $50,000 cars, we’ve got issues.". 'It’s hard trying to find something that all 15 of them will like. But it’s a fun tradition. I love being a part of it. I love getting those guys some stuff, and yeah, it’s cool.'.
