Liverpool head coach Arne Slot delivers season prediction as Reds in hunt for four trophies

Arne Slot believes Liverpool’s superb first half of the campaign gives him confidence they can fight on four fronts this season. And he insists any slip ups will be down to their rivals and not contract situations or injuries. The Dutchman is excited by the prospect of Liverpool going far in four competitions as they prepare for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg clash against Tottenham.
The Reds are looking to retain the trophy after Jurgen Klopp’s side lifted it last season at Wembley. But when they beat Chelsea at Wembley last February, there was hope it would be the first of four trophies in the season. Yet within a few weeks, Manchester United dumped them out of the FA Cup in a seven-goal thriller, their Premier League title charge faltered and Atalanta stunned them in the Europa League.
The feeling was that Klopp's side ran out of gas amid a demanding schedule littered with injury issues. This term, Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League, almost into the last 16 of the European Cup and kick start their FA Cup campaign against Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
It means they are set for a relentless schedule in the next few months but Slot is ready for it after their stunning first half of the campaign has set this up with just one defeat and four draws in 28 games so far. “It is very difficult for me to compare last season with this,” said the Liverpool head coach. “The only thing I do know is what gives me the most confidence to look forward to the coming weeks and months is that till now we haven’t stolen one point.
