Love Island fans ‘can’t unsee’ major soap connection after spotting link to cast

Love Island fans have been comparing the show to a TV soap opera. The new series of Love Island: All Stars will begin on 13 January, and fans of the reality show are eagerly awaiting the drama that will unfold in the villa. The cast of former islanders are returning to the show and will try once more to search for love in the new series, hosted by Maya Jama and filmed in South Africa. Fans of the show are already getting excited on social media as they anticipate the new series - including spotting a pretty unexpected connection to a beloved British soap opera: Hollyoaks.
One social media user posted a video on TikTok about the unlikely similarity, and once you have connected the dots, you simply "can't unsee" it. The video shows the All Star's cast introductions of the new season with a pretty unexpected sound playing over the top - the Hollyoaks theme song. Hollyoaks has been a staple of UK TV's screens since 1995 when it started airing - an impressive 27 years ago.
Fans noticed that the show's theme song worked perfectly whilst played on top of the cast lineup - which sees fan favourites like Kaz Crossley, 29, and Curtis Pritchard, 28, return to the villa on the hunt for romance - and it's scarily reminiscent of the Hollyoaks intro.
"Someone said the All Stars intro is like Hollyoaks and now I can't unsee it," the user wrote over the video - and their fellow fans couldn't agree more. "It actually is I can't unsee it either," wrote one user, with another commenting: "Nah, why is this so accurate".
