A major Coronation Street character is set to be rushed to hospital in upcoming scenes as their shocking plan comes to light. Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) has agreed to donate a kidney to estranged sister Carla Connor (Alison King) in recent scenes, after she was left needing another transplant after contracting sepsis. Carla was suspicious of Rob’s motivations from the get go, pointing out to nephew Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) that she’s never known Rob to do anything from the good of his own heart.

In upcoming scenes, Rob is left irritated when he learns that he will be able to undergo the tests in prison, instead of needing to go to hospital. Next week, it becomes clear that he is plotting something, when prison officer Mandy asks if he still wants to go ahead with his ‘plan’.
