She told the court that when she asked Mr Martin what happened, he said he last spoke to Ms Uhlemann at around 2am and found her unresponsive on her back on the floor at 3am, and believed she had fallen from the sofa and immediately called 999.

On the day of Ms Ulhemann’s death, Ms Francis found Mr Martin sitting on the step outside the house, where he said his partner was dead, the court heard.

Liam Cunningham, the fourth paramedic on the scene, told the court Mr Martin “behaved how you would expect someone to behave, visible crying, upset, and distress”, and that he helped Mr Martin calm down after an apparent panic attack.

Under questioning from prosecutor Mukul Chaula KC, paramedic Alexandra Keogh said she noticed "bruising" to the bottom of Ms Uhlemann’s left eye, right cheek, chin, neck, and inner arm, plus "dried blood" in the patient's mouth, the edge of her lips, around her teeth, and on her tongue.

The paramedic explained she thought the placement of bruising was ‘abnormal’ for someone who had fallen, and that she thought it was ‘odd’ Mr Martin could not spell Ms Uhlemann’s name dispute claiming to be her partner for six years.
