Man fuming as 'sneaky' girlfriend tells her family he didn't buy them any Christmas gifts

Navigating Christmas as a couple can be challenging, but this woman's "cheeky" actions might go too far. If you're in a new relationship, you probably had lengthy discussions about who to spend Christmas with this year. Do you visit your own family, or do you spend time with your partner and their parents? Some couples might even choose to split Christmas Day in half, spending lunch with one family and dinner with the other.
Then there's the subject of presents. Buying for your partner's family members can be tricky, so many couples often opt to buy joint gifts that are from both of them - meaning less shopping stress for the new addition to the family. But one man has said he won't be following that plan with his girlfriend next year after she backtracked on her promise to do joint presents for both of their families - leaving him in the lurch and looking like a fool in front of her family. The man explained that while he told his family that all of the presents he bought were from him and his girlfriend, she didn't do the same with her family and instead took all the credit herself.
In a post on Reddit, he fumed: "This is how we agreed to handle gifts: I buy gifts for my family and say it's from both of us, and she buys gifts for her family and says it's from both of us. I made sure to ask multiple times to confirm that this is how we're doing it, and she said 'yeah' every time.
"We already did gifts with my family and I made sure to mention and highlight that the gifts are from both of us. But then we got to doing gifts with her family today, and she kept saying: 'This is from me!' or 'I got you this', not once saying 'we' or 'us'. I tried to get her attention to hint that the gifts were from us both, but she just ignored it.".
