MANCHESTER UNITED players have allegedly become "super-sleuths" in a bid to identify the person responsible for leaking important team news on social media. SunSport exclusively revealed last month that United chiefs had launched an investigation into which player had been sharing the information.

At the time, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho were being quizzed by head coach Ruben Amorim - but they are not understood to be under speculation now. Man Utd players recently started theorising about which person is the mole and turned into "super-sleuths" in an effort to identify the culprit.

And the Mail now reports that a number of representatives have been in contact claiming to know who the person responsible is. The player in question has not been named. Speculation around the leaks began growing after United's line-up to face Manchester City was revealed the day before the match.

The leaked squad turned out to be completely correct, sparking a frenzy behind the scenes at Old Trafford. Garnacho’s brother, Roberto, had been accused on social media of being one source but he denied that he was the man responsible. Amorim said after the victory against City that he was unhappy about the situation.
