Manchester United fans have fumed after rumours about their starting XI were once again proved correct ahead of their huge derby clash against Manchester City. A United line-up began circulating on social media on Saturday evening featuring the following team: Onana; Maguire, De Ligt, Martinez; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dalot; Mount, Amad; Hojlund.

Boss Ruben Amorim duly announced the exact same team on Sunday afternoon, with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho particularly notable absentees and both out of the squad. Now there are fears United have another leak within the team - a problem that blighted previous bosses Ole Gunner Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

There has been no clear evidence over the source of the leaks, though furious fans have began speculating over who they believe may be responsible on social media. One fuming fan wrote: How can a team line up be leak 24 hours to football match and we are cool about it @ManUtd? So much is wrong inside the club and it's annoying.".

Another said: "Manchester United lineup leaking more than 24hrs to match day is terrible. That reflects on the management and morale of the squad.". A third posted: "United need to do a full investigation into these leaks and fine everyone including staff until it stops. Leaking 24 hours before is insane.".

Amorim explained his decision ahead of the game to drop Garnacho and Marcus Rashford saying: "We try to evaluate everything training performance, game performances, engagement with teammates, push their teammates up. Everything is on the line when we analyse and try to choose the players. It is my selection. Simple.
