MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly made a shock enquiry for Crystal Palace star Tyrick Mitchell. The Red Devils are hunting for players who can slot into Ruben Amorim’s new 3-4-3 system. A left wing-back is top of the agenda for United, with Luke Shaw injured and Tyrell Malacia out of favour.

Reports claim the Premier League strugglers are in talks with Italian side Lecce for Patrick Dorgu. While an enquiry has also been made for Wolves star Rayan Ait-Nouri. PSG’s Nuno Mendes is an option too as he looks to quit the French capital. The 25-year-old has become a key player for the Eagles after making his senior debut in 2020.

Mitchell has clocked up 169 games for Palace, scoring three goals in the process. And he briefly had a spell as England’s left-back with two caps under Gareth Southgate in 2022. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS. Now, Mitchell is being lined up for a potential January move to Old Trafford.

His impeccable fitness record, which has seen him make 36 Premier League appearances in each of the past three seasons, makes Mitchell an attractive prospect for United. But Palace are unlikely to want to sell him, especially after having Trevoh Chalobah recalled from his loan spell by Chelsea.

The Eagles are also aware of interest from several European giants including Atletico Madrid. While Mitchell has admirers in north London duo Arsenal and Tottenham too. TRANSFER NEWS LIVE: STAY UP TO DATE WITH ALL THE LATEST MOVES FROM THE JANUARY WINDOW.
