Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell is getting admiring glances from other Premier League clubs. Mitchell, 25, has been in good form which could also put him back on the England radar as new boss Thomas Tuchel has a big issue at left back. Palace star Mitchell won two England caps in March 2022 but has not been in the picture since but is certain now to come under consideration as Tuchel begins to scour the Premier League for English talent.

His performances have also caught the attention of other Premier League clubs while foreign clubs - including Atletico Madrid - have been at Palace games. England’s left back shortage has been acute since Luke Shaw’s long-running injuries and Ben Chilwell falling down the pecking order at Chelsea. They have used Rico Lewis there and tried different options but Mitchell could be a natural left back choice if Tuchel is looking for different players.

Sven Goran Eriksson famously called up Chris Powell from nowhere when he took charge of the England team back in 2001. Londoner Mitchell has been in the frame before so it would not even be such a surprise, given his performances. In terms of incomings, Palace are in the market for attacking reinforcements with Liverpool winger Ben Doak - who has shone on loan with Middlesbrough - and Millwall's England Under-20 star Romain Esse both admired.
