If Manchester United offload Marcus Rashford in 2025, they will get far less for the England international than they might have done in the past. United are looking to balance the books as they aim to find funds for new signings in January and beyond. Rashford - who on Tuesday admitted he could leave the club - is among those they are said to be open to offers for, with the club reportedly wanting £40million.
That is significantly less than the numbers being discussed just 18 months ago. Rashford enjoyed the best scoring season of his career in 2022-23, scoring 30 times in all competitions, and there was talk at the time that he could be worth as much as £100m.
United kept hold of the academy graduate, though, handing him a big-money contract, and the gamble hasn't paid off. A return of just 15 goals from 66 games since the start of last season has coincided with a tough spell for the club in general, though there is some hope the arrival of head coach Ruben Amorim will change that.
