Marcus Rashford has been left unhappy that Manchester United have alerted clubs to his possible availability. For the third time in a week the forward was left out of the matchday squad by Ruben Amorim. The new manager chose not to include Rashford for the Manchester derby win eight days ago as he cited issues with his attitude and the way he interacted with his team-mates.
The Englishman has since given an interview where he expressed a desire to take on a "new challenge". The MEN reports those close to Rashford have accused United of informing clubs of his availability and that he was unaware of the developments. The United frontman is a top earner at the club but has struggled to deliver. His goals have dried up and, with Amorim now at the helm and likely to bring in his own players come the summer, Rashford's exit appears more likely than him staying.
The Manchester outfit have not made any final decision on whether or not they will sell Rashford and sources say no specific conversations with intermediaries have been held regarding his exit, although they concede it is likely that the Rashford situation was mentioned given the noise around his future.
Gary Neville admitted he was no longer surprised to see Rashford overlooked as his latest snub in the Bournemouth loss. “Rashford’s absence isn’t really a surprise anymore,” he said. “It’s something of the norm. You leave him out for three matches on the bounce, something really is going wrong or has gone wrong.
