Mary Fowler admitted that she is feeling at home in Manchester but claimed that sometimes she wished she could fly back home to Australia to avoid the cold and wet weather. Fowler has recently returned to the United Kingdom following the WSL winter break and is gunning to help Manchester City return to the top of the table. It comes as her boyfriend Nathan Cleary has given Penrith fans some good news as he was pictured back in training with his team.

After undergoing surgery late last year, the champion half-back is looking to make a comeback in time for Penrith's season opener in Las Vegas on March 2. He appears to have gotten through the first part of the Panthers' gruelling pre-season training plan, with Cleary seen sparring against team-mate Dylan Edwards. While Cleary and Fowler are living on opposite hemispheres, the pair have been spotted enjoying some rest and relaxation over the past few months, with Cleary also dropping some snaps of the couple heading off on a romantic getaway in Australia this summer.

Mary Fowler has jokingly hinted that she wants to fly back to Australia to escape the cold Manchester weather. Fowler recently arrived back in the United Kingdom following the WSL winter break and had spent some time back in Australia with her boyfriend Cleary. The Matildas star stated that she was feeling at home in Manchester and has been in flying form after returning from the winter break. They've enjoyed trips to Burleigh Heads and a getaway with some of Fowler's family to Queensland.

But Fowler hinted that the wet weather in Manchester right now was making her want to hop on a flight back Down Under to warmer climates. 'I wish I could get a flight back [to Australia],' she joked during an interview with Optus Sport. 'It was so nice being in the heat and everything but we had our January camp in Abu Dhabi with the team, so that was a nice little in-between before coming back here.'.

Cleary and Fowler had also enjoyed several getaways around Europe after Penrith had clinched their fourth-straight premiership back in October. Cleary had travelled over to Manchester to spend some time with his beau, with the pair subsequently heading off to Mallorca, while the NRL star also travelled to Switzerland to watch Fowler play for the Matildas. Fowler, though, admitted that she was feeling at home in Manchester.

Since returning from the mid-season break, Fowler has been in brilliant form for the Cityzens, claiming four assists in her last four matches, while also finding the back of the net in City's 4-2 win against Aston Villa last week. A post shared by Penrith Panthers (@penrithpanthers). 'I do,' she said when asked if she was feeling at home with City. 'I think I've been really lucky with the group of girls that have been here and it's stayed pretty consistent the whole time I have been here. 'But I couldn't ask for a better workplace to be in which has helped a lot. 'It has especially helped sometimes when results don't go as well - maybe you don't play as much - the girls have always been a good vibe for me which has helped.'.

Fowler also opened up on her future career plans. The 21-year-old stated that she one day wanted to open up a coffee shop. 'I really like coffee but I also just like going to cafes and interacting with people,' she said. 'I love the feeling of being in a cafe and for someone that's working there to know that you're a regular. Sometimes they know your order or they know your name and just like to have a quick chat.

'It feels like you're at home and I would really love to re-create that feeling for other people because I get a lot of joy from experiencing that because if I was on the other end of it, I would also really enjoy it.'. 'I think when I was living in France I realised how much time I spent on my own so I just started getting a bit more curious about things that bring me joy in my day and that was one of the things.
