Mason Greenwood says he would ‘love’ to be joined at Marseille by his former Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba. World Cup winner Pogba has been linked with a number of clubs since his contract with Juventus was terminated in November. The 31-year-old has attracted interest from several European clubs and may also be tempted to sign a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia.
Pogba returned to Juventus in 2022 after spending six years during his second spell at Manchester United. Discussing his next move recently, Pogba said: ‘There are proposals, some of which are interesting and some not so much. Russia and so on, there were proposals but that is not the goal.
‘We have other goals. A club that plays in the Champions League? Why not? If it comes, of course, why not?. ‘We always want to join the best clubs. After that, it doesn’t depend on me, it depends on many other things.’. While Pogba considers his options, Greenwood has said it would be ‘great’ if the Frenchman joined him at Ligue 1 side Marseille.
‘He’s a great man, professional, who has taken me under his wing,’ Greenwood told French outlet Telefoot in a rare public interview. ‘He’s a top player. Any team in Europe would love to have him. If he came here it would be great.’. Greenwood joined Marseille on a five-year contract last summer after being released by Manchester United in the summer of 2023.
