Manchester United and England star Mason Mount has been given permission to build a golf simulator at his £4million mansion in Cheshire, according to reports. Mount, who has made plans to build the simulator despite living next door to a luxury golf resort, initially faced having his proposal rejected by council planners, because it threatened five nearby trees protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO).
Despite originally planning to transform his garage so that the simulator could be built, the 28-year-old midfielder has submitted a new, revised proposal which has now been given the green light, according to the Sun. The fresh plans will see Mount's golf simulator extension, a six-room new build with a gym, study, sauna and changing room, move 6ft away from the protected trees and use specially engineered foundations to avoid damaging their roots.
After no neighbours objected to the revised proposal, council officials agreed to grant Mount planning permission. 'The proposed extension is considered to appear well related to the existing property.' a planning officer involved told the newspaper.
