Matthew McConaughey's mom has claimed that the secret to her aging so well is avoiding stress. Kay McConaughey is 93-years-old but she certainly doesn't look her age, and there's a few things that she attributes to this. In an interview with Austin Lifestyle, Kay - who was born Mary Kathlene McCabe - revealed what keeps her so vibrant in old age. 'I think a lot a lot has to do with my positive attitude. I really have a positive attitude, and I eat well. I eat clean. I exercise,' she told the publication.

Kay continued: 'I do Pilates for one hour, four days a week, and that keeps me fit. But, the biggest thing for me is I don't stress. 'Like, if you and I were really good friends and, and you were talking to me and you had a situation, I would listen to you and I would give you advice and if you didn't take it, then that's it, I wouldn't stress over it. 'I don't have to fix everything, and for me, that's a very positive. Women think they always have to fix everything, and I don't think that way.

'I will help you, but I'm not going to stress over fixing everything. So, my main things are I eat clean, I exercise and I don't stress,' she added. When asked what would happen if she did find herself in a stressful situation,' Kay replied: 'I don't let myself get into them, trust me, I don't.

'If I see that's where I'm headed, I back off. I'm not going to let people do that to me.'. She also revealed that she never used to stress when she was younger either: 'I never really had any reason to. I was really popular and I had a zest for life and stress is not a word I can apply to me, ever.'. Kay went on to reveal that she plans on getting closer and closer to 100 whilst revealing what she's most looking forward to in 2025.

'Another good year of good health, because I plan on living until 98. I just picked that number. I think that's a nice number because if you get too old and you can't get around and your mind isn't good, then what's the point?' she said. Kay described herself as a 'happy, happy, happy person,' and admitted: 'That's what I want people to take away after they're around me, that I don't talk negative, I just simply do not, so I am a happy person.'.

Back in 2020, Matthew, 55, revealed that he didn't speak to his mother for eight years because he discovered that she was leaking their private conversations to the media. Speaking on The Howard Stern Show, the Hollywood actor recalled: 'I would have conversations and then all of a sudden — whoop — what we'd talk about would end up in the paper three days later.'. The Oscar-winning star explained he had to set 'some boundaries' with his mother in order to mend their relationship. When Howard asked if he stopped talking to his mother after she showed off the bed where 'he lost his virginity,' he explained those years were 'tough.'. After a pal called him to let him know about the interview, Matthew phoned her and was shocked she pretended to not know what he was talking about but eventually, she told him: 'Oh that, I didn't think you'd find out.'. After Howard pointed out how difficult it must have been to see his mother for who she 'really is,' the Interstellar star corrected him.
